The Project Management School hosted an online webinar, “Financial and Documentation Support for Hospital Projects.”
“Documentation isn’t bureaucracy. It is the only indisputable proof that project funds were used lawfully, transparently and for their intended purpose,” stressed the webinar’s speaker, Viktor Safinskyi, partner at UHY Prostir, Head of Audit Department and director of Audit Company “UHY PROSTIR LTD” LLC.
Viktor walked participants through the practical issues hospitals face when running projects and working with donor funding. Topics included:
- how to separate direct and indirect costs and manage the project budget;
- which requirements apply when procuring equipment, works and services;
- how to document that funds were used for their intended purpose;
- what to know about co-financing and how to avoid double funding;
- how to properly record the receipt, accounting and use of equipment and medical supplies.
He paid particular attention to the documents that support expenses and to the requirements of Ukrainian law and donor agreements. After all, a successful project takes more than buying what is needed or completing the planned work: the use of funds also has to be properly documented.
Training like this helps hospital teams better understand the financial requirements of their projects and work with donor resources more confidently.
The project is carried out by the Social Equation Hub charitable foundation under the Ukrainian Rapid Response Fund (URRF), a program implemented by IREX in Ukraine with support from the U.S. Department of State.
